Rijeka - Sports Week
Rijeka is the principal seaport and the third-largest city in Croatia (after Zagreb and Split). It is located on Kvarner Bay, an inlet of the Adriatic Sea and has a population of 128,624 inhabitants. Rijeka is a city worth visiting for its specific local way of life, to enjoy the clean seawater and nice beaches or to enjoy the sightseeing and the charm of its night life. The city offers a rich gastronomic, cultural and entertainment program. Rijeka offer exceptional sport infrastructure in one location just by the sea. There are two Olympic pools 50 meters and one pool 25 meters. Just by the pool are football training fields, athletics facilities and indoor athletic hall.
Arrival in Hostel, free afternoon and dinner
After breakfast bus transfer from hostel to Rijeka city center, 2 hours city sightseeing. Return in hostel for lunch and in the afternoon sea swimming in Kostrena. Kostrena peninsula is about 10 kilometres long, with a mild slope toward the sea coast. Along its length there are many beautiful beaches which are visited by thousands of swimmers during the summer months.
After breakfast training in best swimming complex in Croatia – Sports center Kantrida. 2 hours swim training.
Lunch in hostel and free afternoon.
Breakfast in hostel and short trip to mountain Platak. It is popular mountain resort close to Rijeka with numerous recreational facilities, both in winter and summer. Platak is located 1,361 m above the sea.
After breakfast training in best swimming complex in Croatia – Sports center Kantrida.
2 hours swim training. Lunch in hostel and free afternoon.
Breakfast in hostel and another interesting excursion to Opatija. Kayaking down the
coastline of Opatija. After meeting up and going through a short briefing with our guide
on Slatina beach, we’ll be off on our kayaks to the “Devil’s rock”. On your way, you will
be listening to fascinating stories about Opatija’s history and present as we move along
the coast. You don’t have to have any prior experience, but you need to know how to
swim. The trip is not a hard activity and it is easily and quickly mastered.
Day off for individual programs.
